Static Transfer Switch (STS), hay còn gọi là Bộ chuyển mạch tĩnh là một thiết bị điện tử công suất được sử dụng để chuyển đổi nhanh chóng và đáng tin cậy giữa hai hoặc nhiều nguồn điện xoay chiều độc lập mà không gây gián đoạn hoặc với thời gian gián đoạn cực kỳ ngắn (thường nhỏ hơn ¼ chu kỳ điện, tức là vài mili giây).

Nguyên lý hoạt động

STS sử dụng các linh kiện điện tử bán dẫn công suất như Thyristor (SCR) hoặc Transistor lưỡng cực cổng cách điện (IGBT) để thực hiện việc chuyển mạch giữa các nguồn. Do không có bộ phận cơ khí chuyển động, thời gian chuyển mạch của STS rất nhanh, gần như tức thời đối với các thiết bị tải quan trọng.
